2008 Rock Island/Moline, IL. Reunion
The USS Neches AO 47 2008 reunion will be held on September 4 to 7, 2008 in the Rock Island/Moline IL. quad cities area. Dale Carlson and crew has the following activities planned. Thursday September 4 will be for singing in and receiving your name badges and free shirt and hat. There will be plenty of time for getting reacquainted and snacks and beverages of all kinds will be available.
Friday will begin with a tour of the Rock Island Arsenal, the National Cemetery and the Civil War Confederate Cemetery. Then on to the Lock and Dam and Military and Arsenal Museums. We will be having lunch at the Arsenal Club. The afternoon will bring us to the John Deere plant and the display museum where you will find both new and antique farm machinery. The evening will be at the Circa Dinner Theater where we will be served dinner and be entertained with a Broadway style musical comedy show.
Saturday September 6 will be the business meeting where we will be picking the site and coordinator for the 2009 reunion. The afternoon is free to enjoy the many interesting in the area including river boat casinos and water taxis to several landing sites. The evening will be for group photos before embarking on the Celebration Belle for a dinner cruise on the Mississippi River.
Sunday September 7 we will meet in the restaurant for our Memorial Breakfast and say our good byes until our next reunion. In all it promises to be an exciting and enjoyable time.
